Ian Byrne

Ian Byrne brings a mix of senior level strategy execution experience coupled with a depth of expertise in psychology, facilitation and behavior change. He is Managing Partner of Sequoia Change LLP, a London-based change leadership consulting firm, and he collaborates with KSE on global learning and development engagements.

Ian began his career at Mars Confectionery, where he spent 6 years as a Manager. He then spent 4 years as a senior brand strategy specialist at Leo Burnett and FutureBrand, before moving into leadership consulting 12 years ago.

For the last eight years, Ian’s work has fallen into two broad areas. Roughly half of his time is spent partnering leaders and leadership teams on organizational transformation engagements. He has supported leaders on a wide range of issues, such as organizational restructuring, performance improvement and culture change. His approach integrates consideration of the “hard” strategic issues with development of the “soft” behavioral change needed by individuals and groups for sustained success.

The remainder of Ian’s time is spent designing and overseeing the delivery of leadership development curricula and programs for executives and senior leaders. He runs a team of consultants focused on delivering a wide range of learning initiatives delivered by him – all with a consistent focus on translating learning into tangible business action. He is an expert in experiential learning and has worked with a variety of blue chip organizations to develop both global and regional development programs.

Ian holds an MSc from Oxford University. He also has trained as a Gestalt counsellor and is currently studying for a post-graduate qualification in Complexity Science and Organizational Transformation. In addition to speaking English, Ian is fluent in Spanish, speaks a high standard of French and Arabic.
